Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in 1980. She was born in Huntington Woods and raised there. Bell is the daughter of Lorelei Frygier and Tom Bell. Her ancestry is Polish (mother) as well as German, English, Irish, and Scottish (father). Kristen was already a talented performer from a young age. She was able to land her first part in the auditions for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell's mom enrolled her at an agency prior to when she turned 13; she was then featured in TV commercials and newspaper ads. In addition to having private lessons, she began her acting career in the year 2000. Bell had an uncredited role in the movie Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a part of the music and drama groups in Shrine Catholic High School. She was cast as Dorothy in the production for high school of The Wizard of Oz. After graduation Bell made the move to New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts in which she was a musical theater student. Bell dropped out of school in 2001, and began taking on the role Becky in the film Tom Sawyer. In the same year, she was the first to be credited in Pootie Tang (2001), however her character was deleted and her appearance exists only in the credits sequence. Bell was in the film with Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson, and the Broadway show The Crucible in 2002.
