Anamaria Marinca bio

Anamaria is an Romanian actress. She debuted on the big screen on Sex Traffic by Channel 4 in which she won the British Academy Television Award was presented to her for Best Actress. French, German English and Romanian are fluent languages. Her father, a theatre professor at one of Romania's top drama schools, is also an instructor in theatre. In 2000, the young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. In 2008 The European Film Promotion Board recognized her as a European Shooting Star. Her debut film Sex Traffic, won an award from the British Academy of Television, in the category of Best Actress. She also received several awards for her role in the film 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days a Romanian Art Film. In 2007, she starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 zile (4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 Days) by Cristian Mungiu. The film received the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two additional awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). In addition, she appeared as a character in The Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she played Yasim anwar in BBC mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role in the Romanian drama Boogie and in Oliver Hirschbiegel's critically popular Five Minutes of Heaven. She later as the role of Irma's German aunt in Fury that was released in the year 2014.
